Sweet

Did you have a sweet Valentine's Day? We did. In a literal and figurative sense.

J's valentine

The wee ones awoke to valentines and gifts at their places at the table. I got the idea for the valentines from The Purl Bee. (And can I just add how much I love The Purl Bee? They're brilliant, I tell you.) I love the way these look, and I love the fabrics here. Perfect for these, if I do say so myself.

E's valentine

Then we spent most of the day with my mom, having lunch and super-fancy pastries at a little old-fashioned Swiss restaurant, then off to an indoor play area (I don't love those, but my little ones seem to...) for the kids to run and jump and play. (We did end up with several inches of snow yesterday and a high in the low 20's.)

We headed home, and I had cello lessons to teach right away. Then some dinner (Mexican food and margaritas) when Daddy got home, and off to bed.

Very sweet indeed.

These are beautiful Grace. You do everything with such love. I'm glad you had such a wonderful day.

Isn't the PurlBee fun! I made some myself(except with paper, but yours are just so sweet! Is the fabric Aunt Grace? Fitting! Love your blog, been a reader, attempting to be better at commenting!

Sounds like you had a lovely day. Those cards are the sweetest things I've ever seen!

Sounds both yummy and lovely! We've rescheduled Valentine's Day for this coming Monday, so we haven't celebrated here yet.

Thank you for your comments on my blog. Made my day. And I completely agree, it's a pity we don't live near to each other! We would be very good friends indeed.

Oh, and from what I've read, Iain and Elizabeth have very similar temperaments/dispositions too! Perhaps that's part of what you see when you look at him...

It's rather nice to hear you use your children's names lately. They are exactly as I had guessed too! I wonder what inspired the change?

those are so adorable! you seriously are so creative. I don't know how you do it! You are an inspiration, that's for sure!

Those cards look just lovely, I'm so glad you had a great valentines day! :)

mmm...mexican and margaritas. i could go for that!

I love the cards. I forget to look at the Purl Bee for ideas. Next time I need a card for something I know what I'm doing.

Bliss...Xxx

Sounds lovely! My kids awake to little treats and gifts at their place at the table too. My mom always did that, and so have I :o)

Lovely valentines!

I'm just wondering how many cello students you have and how you juggle them with a family and homeschooling.

This is just lovely, Grace. I'm surprised by how many families don't celebrate Valentine's day, but I love it. I'm dying to know what the gifts contained. I too like to give a gift but struggle with how much is too much. I just love those valentines and have to go click on the link now.

Just discovered your blog- will be coming back for more inspiration. Beautiful...

i love your stitched valentines!!!! (is that fabric in the top one vintage? it is so pretty) and how cool does a little old fashioned swiss restaurant sound? with pastries? yum! your day sounds fantastic. :)

Ahhhh, that sounds like a wonderful Valentines!
